Introductions

I spent much of my childhood and teens faithfully journaling about the mundane goings on of my life. However, by the time life began to get truly interesting the distractions of college, career, marriage, and babies got in the way and I neglected recording much of it. I have tried to pick journaling back up in recent years when I came to the realization that mom brain is an actual thing and I do not want to forget this very chaotic yet immensely rewarding time of life. Then, through a very unexpected series of events, our little family recently moved 2000 miles from our little homestead in the hills of Kentucky to a camper in the desert of south-western Arizona. I have had a number of requests from family and friends to blog about our adventure. Our lives out here are very different from what we are accustomed to and full of exciting adventures I'd rather not forget, so I have decided to record it all here. So, here’s the blog!

As all the friends and family already know, I am Grace, a wife, mother, and nurse. I am still employed by a staffing agency who constantly email, call, and text asking me to volunteer to work for various clinics around the state of Kentucky. However, I limit work to very rare occasions so that I can spend the majority of my time raising my two lively little munchkins. Our firstborn is Liam, a 3-year-old blonde haired, blue eyed ball of energy who is passionate about trucks, tractors, cars, wheels, axles, steering wheels, engines, motors, drills, saws, screwdrivers--you get the idea. Then there is Luca, our 1-year old who has a sweet, docile personality until he is crossed enough times. Then he will let loose with ear-splitting shrieks that will set your teeth on edge. He loves books, food, and most of all, Mama. The boy’s other favorite person is Daddy. They both squeal with delight when he arrives home from work. Alvin has worked as a roofer for years. This past month his long-time employer packed up and moved out of state. Around the same time Alvin got a job offer to lay conduit for lighting along the border down in Arizona. So, one thing led to another and here we are! The job is temporary, but we look forward to a warm winter full of adventure before we return to our beloved Kentucky where most of our family and friends are located.

This blog will probably consist mostly of pictures from our travels. I hope you enjoy as you follow along!
