Palm Canyon

We enjoyed a trip out to Palm Canyon in the midst of the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge yesterday. The canyon is at the end of a long, bumpy gravel road and a has a trail leading into it. The palms that the canyon is named for grow in one narrow crevice in the side of the canyon and can only be seen straight on.

The views of the valley and distant mountain ranges from within the canyon are spectacular

The scale and size of the canyon is breathtaking and difficult to capture on camera. Luca was amazed and pointed around in every direction

Taking a break from strenuous hiking on a conveniently sized rock

Leaping from rock to rock like a little mountain goat

Of course Daddy and his buddy ran off to scale rocks and climb mountains

...and the boys watched with fascination and admiration

A rocky path leads into the canyon

I was hoping to see a mountain goat but, while we did come across quite a few goat droppings, the only wildlife we saw were lizards
